Fujiwara no Nagaoka (藤原長岡)

FUJIWARA no Nagaoka (786 - 849) was a bureaucrat during the early Heian period. He was the son of FUJIWARA no Uchimaro, Udaijin (Minister of the Right). Jushii (Junior Fourth Rank), Yamato no kuni no Kokushi (Governor of Yamato Province). It is said that he was excellent in military art.

Brief Personal History

807: Appointed to Mutsu no kuni daijo (Senior Secretary of Mutsu Province).

During this time, he successively held the positions of Sahyoe no shosho (minor captain of the Left Division of Middle Palace Guards) and Suke (vice governor) of Dewa Province, Suruga Province, and Harima Province.

824: Conferred to Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade).

During this time, he successively held the positions of Kuni no kami (Governor) of Echizen Province, Yamashiro Province, and Yamato Province.

846: Conferred to Jushiinojo (Junior Fourth Rank, Upper Grade).
